KEY #2: PRAY!

The key to any healthy relationship is communication. Prayer is simply communicating with the most important Person in your life now - God Himself!

Now that you are a Christian you have access to the Creator of the universe and you can pray at any time. So take advantage of it, the Lord has invited you to!

For example:

“Do you have a burden?”

The Bible says, “Casting all your cares upon Him for He cares for you” (I Peter 5:7)...

“…let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.” (Hebrews 4:16)

“Are you anxious?”

The Bible says, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God...” (Philippians 4:6).

“Do you have gratitude to express to the Lord?”

The Bible says, “Oh, give thanks to the Lord for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.” (Psalms 118:1)

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” (I Thessalonians 5:16-18)

“Do you have a friend or loved one that needs the Lord?”

Jesus said, “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.” (Matthew 8:27-28)

“Do you need help?”

Jesus said, “…if you … know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him.” (Luke 11:13)

“Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I shall rescue you, and you will honor Me." (Psalm 50:15)

The fact that we are called to “pray always” (2 Thess. 2:11), not only tells us that our Heavenly Father will hear us at any time -- morning, noon or night -- but that a specific posture (on knees or closing eyes) or place (location) is not necessary. Enjoy communicating as a child of God with the Heavenly Father -- anytime, anywhere!
